India lifts restriction on export of aggregate and river,
Indian government has lifted restrictions on the export of aggregate and river sand to the Maldives. Export of the materials, mainly used in construction, was earlier stopped in February 2013. A notification published by the Indian Department of Commerce dated 1 January 2014 stated that the February 2013 notice has been withdrawn.Govt allows export of stone aggregates to Maldives,“Export of Stone Aggregates to the Republic of Maldives is being permitted subject to the conditions and quantity ceiling…,” Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification. The most recent exports are led by Fish Fillets ($64.3M), Non-fillet Frozen Fish ($59.8M), Non-fillet Fresh Fish ($40.7M), Processed Fish ($35.7M), and Petroleum Gas ($30.4M).
